Opening of the Pinnipeds Pavilion of the Moscow Zoo

Moscow Mayor Sergei Semyonovich Sobyanin opened the reconstructed pavilion "Pinnipeds" in the Moscow Zoo on July 26, 2022. On his website he wrote: "In fact, it was a new construction. The old pavilion was dismantled and a modern one was erected - with large pools, waterfalls and, of course, special water treatment".

The complex was designed by Bureau A-495 and built by PIK Group of Companies. As part of the work, Aqua Logo Engineering designed and built a complex water treatment system for the unique pinniped enclosure complex. We have installed huge technological tanks of the life support system of the complex, kilometers of pipelines with diameter up to 30 cm and 19 acrylic underwater viewing windows. The largest of them have dimensions of 6x3 meters.

Visitors can observe the life of marine mammals in the water column through transparent windows from the spacious gallery inside the pavilion and outside the structure.

Professional divers from Aqua Logo regularly maintain all five pools with a total volume of more than 9,500 cubic meters after they are filled with water. They clean the bottom at a depth of up to 7 meters, control the condition of sealed joints.
