Aqua Logo Engineering at the "Ocean in the City" Conference 2022

From February 18-21, 2022, the Moskvarium Center for Oceanography and Marine Biology held the second annual international scientific and practical conference "Ocean in the City". The event was again supported by the working group on public aquarium expositions of the Union of Zoos and Aquariums of Russia (SOZAR) and the Euro-Asian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA).

More than 200 representatives of dolphinariums, oceanariums and zoos from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Penza, Gelendzhik, Sochi, Grozny and other Russian cities, as well as specialists from Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka took part in the conference.

The founder of the conference Moskvarium Oceanarium provided comfortable conditions for participants to exchange relevant information in the field of development of research activities in marine mammal husbandry. Specialists shared their experience in 6 sections: "Marine Mammal Veterinary Medicine", "Marine Mammal Training", "Water Treatment", "Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Science", "Animal Therapy", "Educational Activities".

About 70 reports were presented, tours of the Moskvarium's exposition and life support systems were conducted, and participants could attend various master classes and round tables.

The heads of dolphinariums and oceanariums at the round table actively discussed the problems of interaction with various animal protection organizations, formation of public opinion about the work of organizations that keep animals and other pressing issues.

The section "Animal Therapy" was held for the first time in an expanded mode. In addition to dolphin therapists, canister therapists and hippotherapists, as well as teachers of correctional schools and educational psychologists took part in its work.

As part of the Water Treatment section, Alexey Kazakevich, General Director of Aqua Logo Engineering, made a presentation on "Pinniped enclosures for the Moscow Zoo, construction and launching experience".
